Connecting cTrader
Fortiris connects to cTrader using OAuth 2.0 through Spotware's official API flow. You authorize Fortiris to read your trade history without sharing a trading password.
Supported platform: Any cTrader environment that uses the standard Spotware authorization flow.
Current status: The cTrader integration is live in Fortiris and may still be subject to Spotware production-app approval requirements. If authorization fails, contact support for the latest status.
Step 1 - Start the Connection
- In your Fortiris dashboard, click Connections -> Add Connection.
- Select cTrader as your platform.
- Click Connect with cTrader.
Step 2 - Authorize in cTrader
You will be redirected to the Spotware / cTrader authorization page.
- Log in with your cTrader ID.
- Review the permissions screen showing the read-only history access Fortiris is requesting.
- Click Authorize.
Step 3 - Select Your Account
After authorizing, you will be redirected back to Fortiris.
- If you have multiple cTrader accounts, select the one you want to connect.
- Click Complete Connection.
Fortiris will then fetch your recent closed trade history automatically.
How It Works
Fortiris uses the cTrader Open API. The OAuth token Fortiris stores is limited in scope and is used only for read access. It cannot:
- Place, modify, or cancel orders
- Withdraw or transfer funds
- Change account settings or passwords
Tokens are encrypted at rest and refreshed automatically when they expire. You can revoke access at any time from your cTrader settings or by deleting the connection in Fortiris.
Troubleshooting
Authorization failed This may relate to Spotware approval or account-access configuration. Retry later or contact [email protected].
No accounts found after authorization Make sure you authorized with the cTrader ID tied to the trading account you expect. If you use multiple cTrader environments, each one needs its own connection.
Trades are missing Older history may not be available through the API. Export a CSV from the cTrader desktop platform and upload it manually if needed.
Connection disconnected Your OAuth token may have expired or been revoked. Click Reconnect on the connection and re-authorize.
Manual Export Alternative
If the OAuth connection is not available:
- Open the cTrader desktop platform.
- In the History tab, right-click -> Export -> CSV.
- Upload the file in Fortiris -> Imports -> Upload File.
